The Microprocessor based DTF Digital Cable Fault Locator is based on the potential distribution method and the design is extremely user friendly. There is no need to take readings or make calculations. Ideal for locating short circuit faults and earth faults of 0 to 5 Meghohms. Just on pressing one button after the connections have been made according to the diagram prominently displayed on the front panel, the distance to fault is displayed on the LCD as a percentage of the total length of the cable. The readings can be double checked by carrying out tests from both ends of the cable thereby, being 100% confident that the location of the fault is correct. The equipment is powered by rechargeable batteries making it field portable. |
